Metropolitan Family Services is hiring for a full-time Hotline Advocate Lead to join their DuPage Center Team. Essential job functions:

  • Responds to calls from victims of domestic violence on our 24-hour hotline.
  • Provides a welcoming, compassionate, empathic response to hotline callers.
  • Assesses and effectively responds to the needs of callers; offers support and assists with safety planning, referrals, and connection to FSS of MFS-D services.
  • Responsible for recruitment of volunteers and interns for the FSS of MFS-D 24 hour hotline.
  • Provides training and support to hotline volunteers and interns.
  • Develops and maintains the Hotline shifts schedule.
  • Compiles monthly hotline data and provide reports on that information to the appropriate parties.
  • Provides back up to Community Advocates by facilitating community presentations, trainings, and attending outside events when needed.
  • Provides program data by completing required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in the achievement of program goals and objectives.
  • Supervised by the Safe Connections Coordinator, who reports to the Director of the Domestic Violence Programs.
  • Meets regularly with the Safe Connections Team to manage team development and programming to all clients.
  • Works with staff, volunteers, and interns throughout the agency to warmly welcome clients and effectively connect them to services within FSS of MFS-D and in the community.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with community agencies, organizations, and partnering sites as appropriate; effectively and professionally represents Family Shelter Service of Metropolitan Family Services-DuPage in the community.
