WIOA Fiscal Report
Lisa presented the fiscal report. The report indicates that all grant dollars are virtually spent for PY18. DCEO has released monies for PY19, so the next report will reflect the new monies. The Center is required to spend at least 50% of dollars on direct training, the Center exceeded this goal with 58% of funds spent on direct training for clients.
WARN Report
The WARN report remains relatively unchanged from the last report. There was a new layoff at an IT company in Oakbrook. If appropriate, affected workers will be connected with WIB members that may have IT openings. As discussed in previous meetings, it can be difficult to access affected worker lists from some companies as their internal policies prohibit them from doing so. Currently, IDES is working to help supply worker lists via filed unemployment claims so outreach can be done for the affected workers. Updates will be forthcoming on the status of this pilot program.
One-Stop-Operator Update
Dave presented the OSO report. Traffic in the Center remains consistent, with the majority of clients seeking Title 1 Services (training, workshops, etc.).
workNet DuPage Update
Lisa provided the workNet DuPage update. The allocation for PY19 has been released by DCEO, so those funds are now available to spend. Lisa informed the group that she is working with the Marketing Coordinator to develop the Center’s first Year in Review. Jamie will send it out to all WIB members once it is complete.
Healthcare Talent Pipeline Success Story
A client who received training and employment as part of the healthcare initiative shared her story with the group.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 8:58 a.m.
