Training Research
The first step toward training is figuring out what you want to do for a living... What are your interests? Your skills? Your strengths?

Once you know what you want to do, then you can start thinking about training for that occupation.
Ask yourself these questions:
Is the school I’m considering on the approved list of training providers?
(The approved provider list can be found on our website or by clicking here.)
How much does the training program cost?
Is this training necessary for me to become employed? (If it is, please be prepared to tell your Counselor why.)
Will I be able to find a job related to this program after I finish training? Is this type of job in-demand?
(Labor market data must support your employment and training goal. To research in-demand occupations and labor market data, go to www.illinoisworknet.com and search Key Sectors.) |
