It’s Monday!  Yes!

Monday.  Time to get back to the job search after a great weekend.  You feel refreshed, restored and ready to go. A whole new week!  Five whole days to get stuff done and find your new job!

Sound familiar?  I thought not.

Many of us, frankly, hate Mondays — or at least, Monday mornings.  Let’s face it: it’s not easy leaving behind the weekend and all it means: sleeping in, being with family or friends and feeling accepted; spending Saturday outside in the sunshine, enjoying weekend meals together, going to a great movie, reading a great book, having some down time — you know, all that stuff that we can enjoy on Saturday and Sunday that we don’t have time for during the week…

Tomorrow is Groundhog Day. As the legend goes, if the groundhog comes out of his hole and sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. Of course, this may or may not be true. Many think the groundhog has strong predictor abilities; others scoff at his legendary skills.

Happy Friday the 13th!

“Happy?” you say. “Are you nuts?”

On the contrary (knock on wood), this always turns out to be our lucky day. Good things happen on Friday the 13th!

“You just made that up!” say you.

Yes, we did. And why not make it up? Try a little superstition yourself! Maybe today will turn out to be the day you find that perfect job lead, or get a call for an interview or receive that job offer. Why not believe so? What good is the alternative?
